Petition for an urgent court order

A petition for urgent orders such as interim alimony or a precautionary attachment.

What it is

A petition asking a judge for an urgent or interim order, such as a precautionary attachment, a travel ban, interim maintenance or an order to deliver documents.

Who it’s for: When waiting for a full case would cause harm that is hard to undo.

What’s included

  • Assessment of urgency and the right type of order
  • Petition in Arabic with supporting grounds
  • List of required attachments
  • Filing guidance

Not included / limits

  • Any guarantee or security the court may require
  • Court, government, translation and notary fees (paid separately at cost)
  • Filing the document or attending hearings on your behalf, unless agreed separately

What we need from you

Upload these in your private case room after booking. Clear copies or photos are fine.

  • Copy of your ID: Emirates ID in the UAE, national ID or passport elsewhere (residents abroad: passport)

  • Full names and addresses of all parties (and trade licence for companies)

  • A short written summary of what happened, with key dates

  • Evidence of the right you are protecting (contract, cheque, judgment, marriage certificate…)

  • Why the matter is urgent and what harm you expect

  • Court case number and the name of the court (if a case is already open)

Country notesUnited Arab Emirates

Court documents are prepared in Arabic. Each country (and in the UAE, each emirate or free-zone court) has its own forms, deadlines and filing portal; the lawyer adapts the document accordingly.

Documents in other languages may need a certified legal translation before they can be filed. Government, court, translation and notary fees are not included and are paid separately at cost.

FAQs

How fast are urgent orders decided?+

Often within days, but timing depends on the court and country. A complete, well-supported petition helps avoid delays.

Will the other side be told?+

Some orders are granted without notifying the other party first; others require a hearing. The lawyer will explain which applies.

What if I don’t have every document on the list?+

Upload what you have. The lawyer will tell you what is essential and what can be described instead; the delivery time starts once the essentials are received.

Are court or government fees included?+

No. The package covers the lawyer’s work only. Any court, government, translation or notary fees are paid separately at cost.
