Appeal memorandum

A reasoned appeal memorandum prepared by a lawyer experienced in the relevant field.

What it is

A reasoned appeal against a first-instance judgment, identifying where the court went wrong on the facts or the law and what the appeal court should order instead.

Who it’s for: For a party who lost in full or in part at first instance and is still within the appeal deadline.

What’s included

  • Study of the judgment and case file
  • Grounds of appeal and requests
  • Appeal memorandum in Arabic
  • One revision

Not included / limits

  • Appeals already outside the legal deadline (the lawyer will advise)
  • Court, government, translation and notary fees (paid separately at cost)
  • Filing the document or attending hearings on your behalf, unless agreed separately

What we need from you

Upload these in your private case room after booking. Clear copies or photos are fine.

  • Copy of your ID: Emirates ID in the UAE, national ID or passport elsewhere (residents abroad: passport)

  • Court case number and the name of the court (if a case is already open)

  • Full copy of the first-instance judgment and the date you were notified of it

  • Pleadings and memos filed by both sides

  • Expert report, if one was issued

    Optional / if available

Country notesUnited Arab Emirates

Appeal deadlines are short and differ by country and case type. Book as soon as you receive the judgment.

Court documents are prepared in Arabic. Each country (and in the UAE, each emirate or free-zone court) has its own forms, deadlines and filing portal; the lawyer adapts the document accordingly.

Documents in other languages may need a certified legal translation before they can be filed. Government, court, translation and notary fees are not included and are paid separately at cost.

FAQs

How quickly do I need to act?+

Immediately. Deadlines often run from the date of the judgment or notification and can be only a few weeks. Tell us the date when booking.

Can new evidence be added on appeal?+

Sometimes, depending on local procedure. The lawyer will assess whether and how it can be introduced.

What if I don’t have every document on the list?+

Upload what you have. The lawyer will tell you what is essential and what can be described instead; the delivery time starts once the essentials are received.

Are court or government fees included?+

No. The package covers the lawyer’s work only. Any court, government, translation or notary fees are paid separately at cost.
